Richmond Boakye’s opening goal proved the key moment of the match as Proleter’s defensive wall was finally penetrated ten minutes before the end of the first half. Dejan Joveljić and Marko Marin have had chances earlier in the game, but it took a firm header from our Ghanaian star to make the breakthrough.
Milan Rodić came close just minutes into the second half, but his close-range effort was somehow kept out by Proleter.
The best goal of the match came on 68 minutes as Marko Marin danced around Proleter defenders and chipped the goalkeeper with an outrageous piece of skill. Marin produced another mesmerising performance in red and white.
Mirko Ivanić tapped in on 76 minutes to finish off a wonderful team move by the red and whites and Boakye stabbed the fourth goal from close range.
Crvena zvezda are now in pole position in the seven-game play-off race. The points tally of each team will be halved before the play-off.
