After ten days of hard training, our players welcomed this training match as it gave everyone a chance to enjoy some time on the ball and maybe give the coaching staff some food for thought.
Red and whites dominated the match as two different sides played out a half each and scored eight goals against the opposition who will return to league football in just a few days.
Milan Pavkov opened the scoring with a clever chip over the home goalkeeper. It was a lovely piece of skill from the big striker.
Our new defender Nemanja Milunović nodded in on the half hour mark after Čaušić effort has cannoned off the crossbar and Zvezda scored a couple more shortly with Jonathan Cafu and Lorenzo Ebecilio scoring fine goals before half time.
New wingers Erik Jirka and Aleksa Vukanović came on for the second half and showed some good football.
Stefan Hajdin scored from close range ten minutes after the break, and Srđan Babić rose high and powered a header in shortly after to make it six.
There was still time for Dejan Joveljić to score the seventh before Akritas pulled one back through Panagiotis Loukaidis from a counter-attack.
Aleksa Vukanović scored the last goal of the match just before full time to make it 8-1.
The team will return to Belgrade on Wednesday before leaving to another training camp in Turkey in a couple of days.
