Crvena zvezda picked up where we left off before the international break with a good win over a hard-working Rad side.
Richmond Boakye showed glimpses of his former self as he hit two fine goals. There is no doubt that the Ghanaian international will gain a big boost after this performance.
His opener was a pinpoint header. Lorenzo Ebecilio crossed with precision and Boakye timed his leap perfectly well, getting to the ball even though he was closely guarded by two defenders and planted a header beyond Marković.
It was a deserved lead and it was soon doubled by Marko Gobeljić, who poked a Miloš Degenek right-hand side cross first time to make it 2-0 just before the break.
It was all Zvezda after the restart and Richmond Boakye finished coolly with the outside of his right foot after Slavoljub Srnić had released him with a probing pass.
Rad have got a late consolation as Nenad Marinković found the net to make it 3-1 on 78 minutes.
This win meant that our team is now sitting at the top of Superliga table with a seven-point lead over second-placed Radnički.
Next up for Vladan Milojević’s team is a tough Champions League trip to Liverpool on Wednesday.
