We're delighted to announce the signing of Serbian winger Milan Jevtović on a free transfer from Turkish club Antalyaspor Kulübü on a two-year contract with an option of a further year.
The pacy goalscorer was on Crvena zvezda's radar for some time. Director of Football Mitar Mrkela presented Milan Jevtović at Rajko Mitić Stadium on Friday, 22 June and introduced him to the press.
“Milan was born in 1993 and is one of the best players to come through the youth system at Borac. He left the Čačak club for Antalyaspor before going out on loan to Norwegian club Rosenborg BK last season. We tried to sign Milan in January, but we couldn't quite complete the deal. I'm very happy we succeeded in bringing him to Belgrade this time. He is a winger who can play on either side, he's very quick and has great goalscoring ability. I believe he will be a big hit for us.”
Milan Jevtović described joining Crvena zvezda as one of the biggest moments of his life.
“I'm over the moon to have joined Zvezda. I've fulfilled my boyhood dream by coming here. I've come to win titles and play in the European competition. It's where we belong, competing with the best teams on the continent. I've had offers to stay on at Rosenborg, there was interest from some Swedish clubs as well, but nothing comes close to playing for Crvena zvezda. This is my dream, it's priceless. I will give my best in training and in matches because I want to give Zvezda everything I've got.”
Milan nearly joined last winter, but it wasn't to be.
“The clubs couldn't strike a deal last time, but that's football. I'm happy to be here now. Last season was great for the club, so we will have to do great to top it. But we want to do it. I believe that we could reach the Champions League group stage. It would have been nice to be a part of the team that went on to qualify for the Europa League knock-out stages, but I had to settle to just support the lads. I have many good friends here and I can't wait to start working with them.”
