Vladan Milojević bolstered his attacking options with a season-long loan signing of Serbian striker Nikola Stojiljković.
Milojević and Stojiljković have been working together while at Čukarički and our Head Coach signalled that the strong striker would be a perfect fit for Crvena zvezda.
Stojiljković spent two seasons at Portuguese Liga NOS outfit SC Braga, scoring 19 goals in all competitions before joining Turkish club Kayserispor on a season-long loan last term. He scored twice in 13 games while in Turkey.
He teamed up with his new team-mates at training camp at Zlatibor and he will be looking to add to his 2014/15 Serbian Cup and 2015/16 Taça de Portugal medals.
Talking to our reporters at Zlatibor, Stojiljković talked about his joy at signing for the champions.
"I've just gone through my first training session as a Zvezda player and it feels great. I'm very happy to be here and I'm looking forward to the challenges that await us. I want to get used to my new team as quickly as possible."
There are a few players who will help Nikola settle in.
"I shared a dressing room with Žule (Filip Stojković) and Slavoljub (Srnić). I also know Šilja (Aleksandar Pešić) very well. I played with Dejan Meleg last season at Kayserispor, so I believe I will adapt easily. And, of course, I know the boss well and I'm aware of his methods and expectations."
Nikola has been watching Zvezda closely last season and knows the fans' expectations are going to be even higher this time.
"The team won the title last season and did great in the Europa League. We need to match those results at least. Topping them would be excellent. I hope that we can do that."
