It's been a long, hard season. Our first team has played 55 matches so far, and 56th promises to be a special one. Champions of Serbia will be crowned before the Voždovac match tomorrow to make it a fairytale ending to a gruelling campaign.
Crvena zvezda Head Coach Vladan Milojević admitted that he cannot wait to lift the trophy tomorrow in front of the full house at Rajko Mitić Stadium.
"We are hosting a very good Voždovac side tomorrow, so we must be ready for a 90 minutes of battle. They have missed out on a European place so this match will bear no real meaning for either side in terms of league position. However, both teams will look to end the season in style. It should be a good game of football."
Vujadin Savić and Branko Jovičić are returning to fitness and are likely to be available. Still, Milojević hasn't decided whether they will feature tomorrow.
"Whatever team we play, it's the players that have worked so hard all season and they deserve to be saluted by the fans."
Asked about Andrija Luković, who's on loan at Voždovac, Milojević stated that he's pleased at midfielder's progress.
"Andrija needed to play and it was a good move for him. We will assess him and the rest of our players out on loans once the season is over. We will have some decisions to make."
After such a long season, it's no wonder players and the staff are looking forward to holidays.
"I believe the players need some time off to rest. They have had so many games, it wasn't easy. We need everyone rested and recharged in time for new season. We'll have medical examinations on 11, 12 and 13 June, so we want the lads to rest until then. We need to prepare well for new challenges."
The media and fans are speaking about the upcoming transfer window. There are already many names being mentioned as potential signings.
"We are working on it. Our Director of Football Mitar Mrkela never stops - he is weighing up options already. He is working all the time to identify targets and I'm thankful for that - it leaves me with more time to focus on the training pitch! I'd love to remain with an unchanged squad, but there is little chance of that happening. There will be transfers in and out, but it's early days yet."
A reported asked our Head Coach what does he desire.
"My only desire is to lift the trophy tomorrow."
