Crvena zvezda players arrived to Cyprus during the weekend and are already working hard and preparing for upcoming challenges. Captain Nenad Milijaš took time to speak to or website after morning's training session on Monday.
„We arrived here in Paphos on Sunday morning and had a light training session in the afternoon. Today we've done some work with the ball so everyone's happy. But we know we have to do a lot of fitness training as well. It's something the players don't enjoy, but we all know that it's necessary and that you reap the awards later in the season. It's early days and we don't think about the upcoming fixtures. We only focus on training now.“
The team also used Paphos as their base last season.
“We really like it here. It’s even better than a year ago. The pitches are perfect and we have nice weather too.”
Along with seniors, four youngsters have been invited to join the first team in Cyprus.
“It’s a big deal to them. It’s the first time they’ve traveled to a boot camp with the first team. They will need some time to adapt, but all the lads are doing their best to make them feel welcome. We’re a team after all. They were the leading players at the academy, but here they get a bit of stick sometimes and they need to accept that. We’ve all been there!”
