After a period of media speculation, Crvena zvezda finally confirmed the signing of 24-year-old midfielder Branko Jovičić from FC Amkar Perm.
Branko was speaking to journalists in the Rajko Mitić Stadium Media Centre.
“I’d like to thank everyone at the club who believed in me and worked to bring me here. This is the club I supported ever since I was a boy and in my eyes one of the biggest clubs in Europe. I’m raring to go and show what I’m about. I will do my best and hopefully win the title for Crvena zvezda.”
Jovičić can play in positions across midfield.
“At Borac we used to play a 4-2-3-1 formation and at Amkar we played quite a few formations including a classic 4-4-2. I’m comfortable with all these systems and I can even do a job on the wing if needed. I know you’re always expected to win here, no matter what position you’re asked to play. But it’s something I’m prepared for and that is what makes this club so big.”
Our new recruit also spoke about the media linking him to Crvena zvezda in the past.
“It wasn’t always easy to keep focused. I used to be linked to Zvezda even while I was a Borac player a few years ago, but there was no actual offer then. Now I got the chance to join the red-and-whites and I made sure I take it. It’s a dream come true.”
