Our players took some time to get going on The Rooftop's artificial surface and The Dragons had better chances in the first 45 minutes. Dražić was presented with an opportunity to beat Manojlović one-on-one early on after a Le Tallec's defensive blunder, but the forward's shot was thankfully just off target.
John Jairo Ruiz has had a free kick diverted wide from a good position. But other than a few long-range shots, Voždovac defence has had a quiet afternoon.
However, after the break Miodrag Božović's side looked better and showed more urgency in trying to find a goal. Srnić replaced Ristić which injected a bit more pace in our team.
The award came ten minutes into the second half after Poletanović has been fouled just outside the box on the right-hand side. In-form defender Dušan Anđelković placed the ball and curled the resulting free kick beautifully beyond Popović. A perfectly taken goal!
Zvezda continued to create chances and largely limited the home side from creating anything. Predrag Sikimić has had a couple of good chances, but was foiled by Popović on one occasion and he fired over the bar on another. The vetaran striker was left slightly frustrated as he couldn't get on the scoresheet against his old club.
Uroš Račić got another substitute appearance as he replaced Orlandić late on and Filip Manojlović saved a long-range Voždovac attempt to keep a welcome clean sheet and help his team take all three points.
The match finished with Red Star good value for their win.
