Our skipper Milan Borjan didn't have much to do against Partizan but has done ever so well when he was called upon late on in the game.
The Knin-born Canada international was delighted after the Partizan encounter.
"I think we've done well. The first half was a bit bumpy but in the second we showed that desire and character. We fought like lions tonight. We earned that priceless goal and we never looked back. As captain I can say that I’m proud of my team-mates, the staff, everyone at the club and also the fans. I hope we can continue the winning run. We’ve got some records to break and we’ll try to do it.”
Great team spirit helped keep the side afloat even when things weren’t going our way on the pitch and it’s a testament to the tight-knit squad.
“The atmosphere in the dressing room is fantastic – we’ve been showing that for a while now. I think it’s something that can’t be faked. It’s how we want to continue. We’ve got Javor on Sunday so there isn’t much time to enjoy the Derbi win. It’s our duty to keep our focus and prepare for the upcoming match. Only when the season is over we’ll get to enjoy.”
Another Superliga title looks close now with the red and whites securing a healthy 12-point lead over the second-placed team Partizan. But we’re in the mix for another trophy in Kup Srbije.
“Crvena zvezda is always on the hunt for trophies. Winning the double is our goal. I think we have the quality to reach that goal, especially with our recent form. We’re on a good path to bring joy to everyone who loves this club.”
