He started his playing career at Radnik Ušće. He signed for Sloga Kraljevo in 1995, before moving to Zemun in 1998. He joined Crvena zvezda in 2002 and won the domestic double in 2003/04. In 2004, he left Belgrade to join Glasgow Rangers in Scotland.
He was loaned to Real Sociedad, where he played 12 games. Then in 2005, he returned to Crvena zvezda, with whom he played in the 2005/06 season, winning another double. In 2006, he joined Incheon United in South Korea, where he ended his playing career in 2009.
He won 17 caps for the national team of Serbia and Montenegro and scored the winning goal in 2003 against Wales in the Euro qualifiers.
After finishing his playing career, he devoted himself to working with the younger selections of Crvena zvezda, with whom he worked successfully for several years. In 2015 he became the director of the Youth Academy.
