Svetozar Mijailović was born on 8 January 1947 in Lopaš.
He graduated from the Faculty of Organizational Sciences and obtained the title of engineer of work organisation. He was employed at the Institute for Technology Transfer, Engineering and Marketing in Belgrade and is one of the founders of the Association of National Representatives of Serbia.
Svetozar Mijailović is a long-term social and sports worker. He was the president of Youth of Serbia (1973-1977), president of SOFK Serbia (1978-1982), the president of SOFK Belgrade (1982-1986), the president of the Assembly of FK Crvena zvezda (1987-1993), the president of FK Crvena zvezda (since 2014). He was also vice president of the Football Association of Belgrade (1996-2000) and Minister of Sports in the Government of the Republic of Serbia (2000).
He is the recipient of the May Award of the Serbian Football Association, the Order of Labour, the Award of the Football Association of Serbia, several Awards of the Crvena zvezda Sports Association and many other social and sporting awards.
